Young Critics Corner (Grades 8 - 12)
with Linda Sutherland

Become a “next generation” theatre critic by developing the skills to communicate an informed, well-balanced and personal response to a Trinity Rep theatre production.
Young Critics will:
· Be guided to observe, analyze, construct, write and refine a theatre critique which can be shaped and shared on a variety of different social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube or TikTok.
· Evaluate the collaborative process by attending a rehearsal, a technical rehearsal and a performance of a selected Trinity Rep production
· Begin to develop their writers’ voice with confidence, understand the importance of objective criticism.
· Recognize the collaborative contributions of the playwright, director, actors, designers and technical crew.
This season’s workshop sessions will focus on Trinity Rep’s production of The Winter's Tale.
Introduction to Acting
with Angela Brazil

This introductory acting class is designed for people from all walks of life who are interested in exploring basic acting skills, as well as developing essential life skills such as confidence, focus, critical thinking, and public speaking. The class introduces students to acting techniques through exercises, monologues, and scene study. The class will give special attention to strengthening skills in physical presence and character development.
Some rehearsal outside of class time may be required. Class size is limited to 12 students.

Once your application is processed, you will receive a discount code to use at registration. Allow 10 business days for processing.
If you register for a class without your discount code, we will need to cancel your original registration and will not be able to refund credit card fees. You will then need to re-register for the class using your discount code to receive the financial aid.

Theater for Social Change
with Various Instructors

Over six weeks, students will explore how theater can be a vehicle for social change. The course includes reading excerpts of plays and essays that highlight the intersections between theater, individual lived experience, and larger societal issues, followed by rigorous class discussion and introspection. Students will participate in games and movement exercises to develop skills for social change-oriented performance and artistic expression. Emphasizing personal growth and community, the course culminates in a brief solo or ensemble performance to highlight social issues the class finds compelling.
Students in this course receive one (1) complementary ticket to the Thursday, June 10 performance of the musical Next to Normal for class discussion.
This class is priced on a sliding scale between $60 – $225. Email education@trinityrep.com with the amount you would like to pay and for the link to register. Class size is limited to 12 students.
