Virtual Intro to Performance
with Jordan Butterfield
Before an actor begins telling stories in front of audiences, they must learn to be comfortable on stage. This involves accessing a variety of tools that most of us don’t use in our daily lives. In this class, we will explore these time-honored techniques used by all actors, including creating intention, connection with another actor, comfort and ease on stage, building a character, improvisation and following impulses, and utilizing sense memory. The class will culminate in monologue work that will focus on each student’s individual needs and strengths. We will be using the Zoom platform (video & audio connection are essential). Class size is limited to 14 students.
